Flight to Duxford Imperial War Museum – Europe’s largest aircraft museum – includes one hour entry to the Museum (access to Concorde available before 3pm), allows the possibility for the rear seat passenger to have a trial lesson on the return flight in the four seater. (Please check our latest passenger protocol before booking this option) Each flight approximately 45 minutes. The only extra cost to the recipient is a piece of cake and a cuppa for the instructor! (If Duxford is closed the alternate is Turweston)
Since all flights in any aircraft start when the brakes are released and finish when they are applied (whether that be a light aircraft or an airliner) and all our flights involve around ten minutes of taxying, power and system checks, the one hour flights – for example – allow 50 minutes or so airborne time. Plenty of time to get the feel of controlling the aircraft.
Trial lessons are not available to those under 14 but there is no upper age limit. (The two seat aircraft are not suitable for anyone who is overly large or tall.)
All trial lesson time counts towards the minimum training required and can be recorded as such in a suitable Pilot’s Log Book.
Payment by cheque or cash only at present.
Prices correct 01/04/2021 but may fluctuate with aircraft fuel price changes
